“How often do I need to post?”

This question has continually come up over the last 6 years of running Authentic.

And my answer might surprise you.

Posting frequency is totally relative.

Let’s start with what the platforms recommend:

  • TikTok - 1 - 3x per day, 7 days a week

    • TikTok Shop - 1 out of your 3 posts per day, 10 posts per product

  • Instagram - 3 - 5x per week, and a couple of IG stories every day.

However, in practice, these suggestions might not work for you.

It has been reported by some that posting 1 - 3x a day on Instagram, 7 days a week is a better strategy.

The reason they see success with this is simple:

  • More content means a higher chance what you post performs well in the algorithms, and therefore posting more often can help accelerate your growth

(This is why I love a good 30 day challenge to kick me back into gear, or a batch day of content creating to keep a bank of content hot n’ ready.)

Another benefit of posting every day, or even multiple times a day, is that it trains you to get in the habit of hitting post and releasing the outcome.

You can’t overthink your content when you’re pushing out 3 video posts a day.

You move with more impulse, and capture in-the-moment energy.

& guess what - that raw realness performs. It’s palpable.

Now, on the other side of the argument is the “quality over quantity” concept.

It’s true - you don’t have to post every day or 3x a day to grow 10k followers overnight.

Because one video can do that. (It happened to me.)

Plenty of creators leverage this strategy to really hone in on their craft and excel with a bit more meticulous effort, or only push out the most compelling content.

So what do you do?

The important factor is to honor what is sustainable for you and your brand.

The important factor is to honor what is sustainable for you and your priorities.

So, my answer is choose a schedule based on the type of content you want to make and be known for, and stick to it!

Relatable funny mom? Hit me with your jokes on the daily!

Polished, impressive lighting and VOs? WOW me a few times a week.

Remember - what matters most is that you feel authentic creating your content as an artist.

On to the content prompts and trends for the week!

Unhinged

If there was ever a year that deserved a trend called "unhinged," it’s this one. Between AI taking over, politics being… well, whatever this is, and the general chaos of everyday life, why shouldn’t we embrace the madness? That’s exactly what the "unhinged" trend is all about, leaning into the ridiculous, the bizarre, and the downright chaotic in the most entertaining way possible.

This trend is simple, You ask your audience to share their most outrageous, unhinged, or hilariously deranged stories, opinions, or experiences. The key? No boring answers allowed. You’re not asking for mild takes, you want the kind of responses that make people gasp, cackle, or question humanity.

Some ideas in case you feel lost:

Moms (and mompreneurs ) have some of the most unhinged stories, because *parenthood and business ownership are both gloriously insane.

For Moms:

  • Tell me the most unhinged thing someone has said to you about motherhood. Not just 'sleep when the baby sleeps' I mean the kind of advice that made you question their entire existence.

  • What’s the most unhinged thing your kid has ever said to you? Not ‘I love you’, I mean the time they whispered ‘Mom, I licked the dog’s paw… for luck’ at 3 AM.

  • Tell me your most unhinged ‘I’m done’ mom moment. Not ‘I hid in the pantry to eat chocolate’, I mean the time you let your kid wear a tutu, rain boots, and a superhero cape to the grocery store because fighting about it would’ve broken you.

For Mompreneurs:

  • What’s the most unhinged ‘business advice’ you’ve gotten? Not ‘just wake up earlier’, I mean the kind of tip that made you wonder if they’ve ever met a human child."

  • Tell me your most unhinged ‘work-from-home with kids’ moment. Not ‘I took a call in the closet’—I mean the time you duct-taped a toy to the wall just for five minutes of peace.

  • What’s the most unhinged thing a client has ever asked you? Not ‘Can you do it cheaper?’, I mean the time someone demanded you respond to their email at 2 AM because they ‘had a vision.

So go ahead and ask the unhinged question. Because if 2025 has taught us anything, it’s that  normal is overrated anyway.

Examples: IG audio, About hair, About fun in life, About bartenders, About a night out.
