Social Media Marketing Trends week of April 21st

Friends,

I was in Tokyo last week but couldn’t post about it!

Content creation gold, and I had to just sit on my hands.

The reason is I got to go because half of our trip was paid for by my husband’s work - his flight, our hotel room, his food.

Now, we didn’t commit any crimes - but he doesn’t want the extra scrutiny on his receipts and expenses from his small company when people see me online going with him.

So I obliged. I was lucky to get to go and experience the trip.

I still took tons of videos and made my own compilations just for fun!

What do you think?

Was it fair for him to ask that?

Should I post anyway?

I am all about truth on social, showcasing your story, and not being apologetic. But in this instance, I chose to prioritize his ask over my content creation career. We all know I have made content at his expense before though, and truthfully, it’s a dance and a balance.

How does creating content impact your family?

Do you have to consider other people in your immediate life before you hit post?

I think it can certainly add a layer of difficulty and complexity to showing up.

This weeks prompts are intentionally easy, low hanging fruit trends and audios - to make one aspect of posting hopefully just a little bit easier for you :)

Prompt: This audio is a great opportunity for any creator to leverage. You want to make sure that the video you use is very compelling. It needs to be: high energy, or aesthetically pleasing. So - can you leverage any of your best performing videos? Your favorites of your product? If you struggle with aesthetic video, then I would make it into something humorous and do the opposite. If you are into showing the ‘real side’ of life - maybe it’s a ton of laundry in a pile, or stack of dishes to make this relatable.
