Social Media Marketing Trends week of July 7th

Hope you guys had a great holiday with friends & fam!

This week’s mantra…

"Be the designer of your world and not merely the consumer of it."

- James Clear

Next year I’ll be closing the office for the week of 4th of July.

I’ll also close it the week after Christmas.

Posts will still be posted, of course.

But I have observed that people don’t want to work.

And if they don’t want to, chances are, they won’t do a good job.

I am part of a new wave of business leaders that believe in the power of integrating work and life, making space for personal lives so that we can give our best to our professional lives - without sacrificing the other.

It’s about how you use the 24 hours in day, and no two people have to use them the exact same way.

Okay that’s the FUN part.

Now for the WORK part.

My personal mentality has always been work hard, play hard.

I expect hard work of my team too, which means I expect a lot of them.

I also give them total flexibility in their time to do it.

This requires tremendous personal discipline and ownership.

It also breeds a culture where people want to stay, and are motivated by their own personal growth.

My coaching for them then becomes less on social media abilities, and more on their time management.

Because I truly believe you can learn anything, if you make the time and priority to do so.

Are your life and business goals aligned to the time you spend deeply connected and focused on each?

Recently I did a “Calendar Audit’ with myself and members of the leadership team at Authentic.

We listed out the things on their calendar and if it matched their priorities.

For example, if sales are your top priority - are 50% or more of the activities on your calendar dedicated to generating sales?

If you top priority is setting up systems, have you blocked out 50% or more of your time working for systems set up?

The other fun activity you can do to become top of your game as a content creator is to do a “Perfect day / Perfect Week” exercise.

It’s as simple as it sounds.

Map out what you would do at every hour of the day for your perfect day.

When do you record content?

When do you edit and write captions?

Is it a one and done 2 hour block?

Or do you prefer to space things out over a few days - use the “Perfect Week” to discover if this works best for you, where you might split days between recording, editing and writing captions.

Do one or both of these exercises and let’s talk about it at the next Friday get-together :)

On to the content prompts and trends for the week!

Summer Ween

You’ve heard of ‘Christmas in July’ but have you heard of Summer Ween?

With more that 85k hashtag uses on IG, it’s definitely become a thing.

If you love halloween, or your business does, EMBRACE this!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year for social, its always a chart-topping content season.

So why not do it twice? Genius I say.

Examples: One, Two, Three, Four, Five
