Social Media Marketing Trends week of June 16th

This week’s mantra…

Anything in life worth having is worth working for. - Andrew Carnegie

Happy Father’s Day - I hope the men in your life deserve everything you did or did not do for them :)

ICYMI we had our second virtual meet up on Friday and there were so many good nuggets of conversation!

Here’s a few highlights…

1) Welcome to our new members this week: Jasmine, Brittany, Izaneiryd, and Ainsley! ✨

2) Does writing SEO keywords on your video and then dragging them off screen work to improve views on on TikTok? Amber and Megan say ‘Yes!’ 🤯
3) I am meeting with a representative from TikTok Shop on Monday. I took down your burning questions for them and will report back! 📝

One piece of feedback I heard from everyone is they are ready for this to become an income stream, and really hoping to start generating cash.

Two things that can help:

1) Remember that even though we hear constantly of overnight successes, the truth is that it often took many ‘nights’ to achieve it. Posting once a day for five days a week while juggling other priorities is not the ‘full force’ that many creators, including those working with a Connecticut social media agency or a user generated content (UGC) agency, are putting in to achieve financial success. So just remember, you are balancing A LOT. Create with a learner’s mind, and remember if you want faster success, you gotta be willing to work harder and faster than slow and steady. (And BTW nothing is wrong with slow & steady!)

2) If you are in the TikTok Shop Creators program, an upcoming campaign is the “Deals or You Days” Short Video Challenge happening 7/7 - 7/12. I am personally registered and excited to use it as a forcing mechanism to test my own shoppable content strategies. They are offering cash prizes anywhere from $2k - $10k for short, shoppable videos that convert!

You can find this by going to “TikTok Studio” Then “TikTok Shop for Creator” then under TikTok Shop Toolkit, slide to “Campaigns” and see the ones that interest you.

On to the content prompts and trends for the week!

Match My Freak

This song by Tinashe has been a hit since coming out in June has everyone making content about what “match my freak” means to them.

It’s still early on as a trend PLUS an easy one to adapt to your niche!

This is a great way to let your freak flag fly, or show a vulnerability to relate to others.

Another way to take it would be to say something that makes you feel like you ‘broke a rule’ as a confession.

I’ll examples speak for themselves.

Examples: Anyone else?, Lego outfits, Short girls, No bra, X hilarious
