Social Media Marketing Trends week of May 12th

Happy Mother’s Day to all our amazing Moms!

I am so proud to share this little corner of the internet with you.

I get to watch you raise the best new humans,

go after your own dreams,

and speak truth to the whole thing for the next generation.

I will never forget holding my daughter and son for the first time - experiencing another level of love I had never known.

It was pure, unconditional, deep.

It still is.

When I hold my children now, I feel that same feeling I felt 8 and 5 years ago.

It’s a visceral knowing that I would forever protect them, give to them, and tell them they were loved. An embrace I never would let go of.

And in that powerful feeling of love, and desire to nurture it…

I lost myself.

Or maybe I became a new version of me, one I didn’t recognize.

A ‘meet cute’ between my past and current self.

“Hi Body, mind, and soul! Meet, NEW Body, Mind, and soul!”

Because motherhood is not only the birth of a child, it is the birth of a Mother.

But you know this.

You’ve been there, too.

And so even though we are busy relearning our own bodies…

and giving selflessly to our children…

we have acquired a wisdom that is too good not to be shared with others:

the power of change, rebirth, and renewal.

(Maybe that’s why we make such great storytellers. 😉)

Now fix your face and let’s make some reels!

Only days left to…

Prompt: Try a countdown series! All of us at the agency are enthralled by the social media marketing wizard Nicole who got us all to join her community by creating a narrative that she had a challenge with her boss to grow the company account to 500k followers and beat all his marketing ideas, by smashing their product.

It’s genius.

Yes, its contrived.

No, she’s not really an intern.

What can we learn from this If we don’t have a product to smash? Architect a story in which you have transparency to your business or storyline as a creator, involve ‘real characters’ like the boss Mike, etc. and then INVOLVE the audience by giving them a CTA to engage.

  • Example for a Mom creator: “I have 30 days left to potty train my toddler, will today be the day?” Then show the real life, hilarious attempts to potty train your toddler. Keep this up as a theme! It doesn’t have to be every piece of content but it would be a fun ‘countdown’ series.

Examples: Example 1, Example 2
