Social Media (TikTok & Instagram) Trends Week of February 10.
For years I pretended to like football.
I even had a blog about my fandom for the local team.
I held season tickets for the college team and the NFL team in my area.
But what I realized, after snagging my husband under this rouse…
was that it wasn’t the football I liked at all.
It was the community.
It was the coming together for a competitive moment.
It was the excitement, the party.
And I want more of that in life —
just not surrounding football.
Wouldn’t that be nice?
Is that okay to admit?
So I’ll be counting the times they put Taylor on the screen.
And I’ll gather with friends, and cook, and have a cocktail…
but I’ll wish it was for something else.
Sometimes I think social media is like sports for the girly girls.
We get to rally around things we love like fashion, crafts, and storytelling…
with numbers and data to make it measurable…
supporting our favorite ‘players’.. rooting for their lives...
Women, and mothers specifically, invented the category of ‘influencing.’
And I believe it has just the same power to captivate and engage fans as the NFL and the Superbowl, too.
So bring your A game to creating this week….
and compete…
even if just against yourself…
to have a scroll-stopping performance!
