Introducing Silly Little Social: The Podcast – A Bold Leap into Authentic Storytelling and Expert Insights

I am so so excited to share this year’s evolution of the Silly Little Social…

Silly Little Social: The Podcast!

When I came up with the idea for SLS, I always envisioned a podcast going with it - so I put in a trademark application mid 2024 in hopes that my vision would one day come true.

In December we had an amazing guest speaker share at our ACN Lunch and Learn: podcast expert Olivia Howell.

(Thank you ACN Lunch and Learns!)

Her talk empowered me, and I decided there’s no time better than the present.

So I jumped two feet in and started reaching out to people I knew would make great interviews.

Very raw, very little prep, just a lot of gut instinct.

On Wednesday, the first three episodes launch!

You’ll hear from Mom entrepreneurs, Influencers, and expert marketers throughout the season to help you get the cutting edge thoughts of people making success happen on social everyday!

Subscribe to the YouTube channel, and wherever you listen to your podcasts to listen.

Big thank you to everyone who supported me in this and I have to say, I am LOVING the format so much!

And if you are considering starting a podcast, I thought it would be fun to give you a breakdown of the costs associated:

  • $200 to meet with Olivia privately for an hour to get all her reccos on starting - how to record, where to host, what software you need, what microphone you need. SO worth it. This was like getting months of a jumpstart.

  • $350 on mic and headphones

  • $900 year subscription to the platform to record and edit - loving the AI video edits

  • $1200 producer start-up costs to set up the production schedule and needs, edit the first 3 episodes, etc.

  • $1000/month ongoing producer costs (I quickly realized this is an absolute need for me with my schedule, but you can definitely DIY if you have some time.)

  • $0 cover art and promotional images (me and my team are great at this already)

  • $0 guests, this has been my favorite part - I love just tapping into my network to have deeper convos with people ACTUALLY…

  • $250 - one hour with a idol of mine via the Intro app, who I then pitched to be on the podcast - and SHE SAID YES! She will be one of the biggest names of season 1 to chat with me.

  • $1250 - Trademark for the show

  • $10,000 - my big launch event in NYC… I’m currently manifesting this budget so I can do the launch event we all deserve! Fingers crossed!

All in, about $4,000 startup costs and will be about $1,200 a month to maintain. Keep in mind, you can definitely do this cheaper, but for me this was the system that was realistic. I do have a season 1 sponsor, and excited to expand in this area if people like the podcast and find it valuable.

Are you going to listen?

Would you like to be a guest in an upcoming season?

Reply back and let me know any questions!

XO,

Lindsay
