Top TikTok & Instagram Trends to Watch: Week of February 24.
I’ve been working out more consistently (4 - 5 times a week) since December.
I stepped on the scale for the first time this morning, just to see.
And I was so devastated by the number looking back at me.
Yeah, I know what they say, “Muscle weighs more than fat.” or “It’s not how much you weigh, it’s how your clothes fit.”
It doesn’t change the fact that the number was a gutting shock to me.
I’ve been working through the negative thoughts in my head since then.
And I realized that this is how social media can feel, too.
When you feel like you’ve been doing a good job, showing up, having fun, being consistent…
but the numbers you want just aren’t there.
The truth is the social media landscape is competitive.
However, it’s not about competing with others, it’s about being the best creator YOU can be.
Getting a little better each day.
Sure, there are quick fixes for getting fit.
And there are quick fixes for going viral!
But both only put you farther from your real goal.
My goal isn’t to lose weight fast.
It’s to be fit, and stay fit, for the rest of my life.
Your goal for social should not be a quick hit,
but rather to build a lasting inlfuence, and meaningful community, that isn’t just a fad.
And for that to happen, we have to keep putting in the reps.
We have to get smarter about our strategies.
Getting 1% better at our craft with each post.
Even when the numbers aren’t reflecting success - just yet.
XOXO,
Lindsay
