Social Media Marketing Trends week of January 14th

We have arrived at halfway through the challenge!

👏 Congrats if you’ve posted 10 times since January 1 - you are starting off the year with a great habit toward building your social media presence. 👏

Meta has said that consistency on the platform helps the algorithm categorize and push your content. Have you noticed that you like to post in the morning or evening? Now that you are developing a habit, it will get easier and easier if you do it at the same time each day.

If you completely fell off and haven’t posted yet, don’t worry!

You can always take these prompts into the future. They are meant to work any time throughout the year.

🎂 Special shoutout to last week’s birthday girls Amanda and Krystle how fun that we brought two birthday twins from across the country together for this online challenge! 🎂

This one was my favorite from our Parenthood week! Way to go, Natalie! 💃

This week we are going to encourage you to push your skill level as a creator and experiment with different tactics for producing strong reels.

I’m calling it, ‘Flex Your Social Media Skillz’ week!

As a reminder, here are the Official Rules of 30 Days Authentic:

✔️ Post 5 days a week (Because 7 days a week, multiple times a day, just ain’t it.)

✔️ Make Space for Creativity - you choose how much time you want to spend making content, whether thats 10 minutes or 2 hours a day. Choose your level and block it in your calendar. We recommend adding at least 10 minutes before your content creation block to do something like go for a walk or listen to music to get into a creative state.

✔️ Support others in the challenge! Use #showupauthentic on your posts so we can find each other and engage. No one likes to perform for an empty theatre, so let’s clap loudly and spread encouragement.

Without further ado, let’s get to your creative prompts this week!

Day 1 - B-Roll is Your Bestie

Prompt: B-Roll is a content creator’s best friend. The term B-Roll comes from the idea that it is not your ‘A roll’ - it’s not the main action shot. Often B-Roll sets the scene, or shows a more mundane part of the day-to-day. It could also be the most visually pleasing or ‘on brand’ parts of your life that you see around you.

It’s really helpful to build up your bank of B-roll for posting videos with text on top, and have it handy for days you don’t have the capacity for a new production.

Visual Ideas: The key to strong B-Roll is to PLAN the shots that would make the most sense for your message. Look for great light, style the space, and if you are going to be in the B-Roll then put on an outfit that makes you feel great. Oh, and when in doubt… TIMELAPSE!

Examples: simple aesthetic B-Roll, aesthetic B-Roll, at work, timelapse FTW
