Social Media Marketing Trends Week of January 13

Did this week feel heavy?

Yeah, I get it.

When things like the LA fires happen, a lot of creators I know feel the collective pain.

I believe it’s because so many great creators are empaths.

They are great at communicating concepts through their art because they are deep listeners first.

They tap into the energy of the crowd, and then relate to so many people when they use their voice.

So if you are feeling like the content you had planned to post, just isn’t right.

Listen to your gut.

It’s better to save your content for another day and rearrange your calendar, than to post something that feels insensitive or ill-timed.

Another power that we as creators have, is to help.

To shine light on where it’s needed most.

To lend our creativity and platforms to others, and create community.

In so many of the communities I am a part of, Mothers are springing into action.

No matter where they live, they are offering to collect donations, money, and share resources.

That’s the beautiful thing about Moms, and why I want so many more of them to confidently share their voice.

You can do that, too.

And also - just because terrible things are happening in the world (at all times) doesn’t mean you need to push down your joy.

We need the world to keep turning in light of bad events.

We need your joy.

In fact, it’s in the little joys day by day that we recover from devastation.

So, if you have it, share it!

Just make sure it’s not tone-def to the moment.

LA: How Can You Help?

Use your platform for good.

This is a non-political moment in which members of our own country are impacted.

Moments like these can bring us together.

And that goes for the online world, too.

Think about how you uniquely can help the LA families who lost their homes, or simply do a little research to help amplify the message of those on the ground who are helping.

Examples: Round-up resources in a carousel, come up with a way you can support like our own ACN Member Alyssa, or amplify another’s efforts you align with.
